Ascent grew from hands-on experience in supervision, teaching, and production management. Its founder learned that stepping in and working harder could not replace clear expectations, shared responsibility, and developing other people.
Teaching helped sharpen that lesson: people need to understand the work, contribute to solutions, and take responsibility for their part.
In a later production role, department leads helped build the procedures they would put into practice. As the team grew, another need became clear: managers needed to know how to develop their own leaders.
Those experiences inform this program’s workplace examples, practical conversations, and actions to try after each lesson.

No. Ascent’s experience includes apparel operations, but the leadership program addresses challenges shared across industries: clear expectations, ownership, delegation, communication, and developing people.
Yes. The course is entirely self-guided, using recorded lessons, worksheets, worked examples and scenario quizzes. There are no required live classes, group calls or travel.
There are ten modules. We suggest one per week so you can try the ideas at work, but the course is self-paced within your 12-month access period. Plan for up to 60 minutes of self-guided study per module, including focused chapters, scenario practice, quiz feedback and workbook planning. Workplace practice follows afterward. The revised Module 1 pilot includes three video chapters with an interactive opening story.
Each module has an independent task, a model response and a self-review checklist. Keep your written work in your own workbook and record completion in the course platform. Use a real authorized example or the supplied simulation. Instructor review is not required.
Complete all ten lessons and assignments, score 3 of 3 on every module quiz and at least 4 of 5 on the final check, then complete the project self-review. You can retry quizzes after reviewing feedback. The certificate is unlocked after all requirements are met, with no instructor approval. The full-course certificate remains locked until all ten modules and the final review are complete.
